Nationality: Australian, from Newcastle.
Age: 22 years old.
Currently Studying: 4th Year Medicine – University of Newcastle
Surfing background: Started surfing when I was about 5, all around Port Stephens and Newcastle. Jumped from high school into Medicine here in Newcastle.
Recently did two months of trauma and orthopaedics in Ghana and Sri Lanka.
Currently taking this clinical year in a rural base hospital on the east coast living with a few good mates/students. Surfing more days than not and learning about rural medicine.
Started hobby shaping when I was 17, only made 6 boards so far, playing around with the concepts of single and twin fins mostly.
Favourite Surfer: Heath Joske – charges big South Australian slabs, soul arches in competition and shapes on the side. Recently spear heading the “save the bight” campaign.
As for competitive surfers go – John John for sure.
