G-land update

Hi all, time for an update from the jungle, now I’m on day 3 and have settled in…

Surf first…. first day I think I’ve mentioned, but anyway the ledge was spitting, and people were happy… since the swell’s been dropping off… yesterday was small, but there were still waves… 3/10 by G-land standards, but the guys who have been here a while are getting a bit fussy (?spoilt), if that was their home break they would have been frothing….

So by yesterday afternoon… we’d called a lay day… cue some afternoon looseness…bourbons, me, Chris, Vaughnie and a few of the others went up to the tower for some hotdogs and bintangs, and continued the buzz into the evening… Gotta love the tower- gives everyone from all the camps a chance to catch up and swap stories everyday, and you get to meet the whole crew… Lintion, Frenchie, Dan and Kim- you were being missed horribly but we coped… (apart from Vaughnie, who’s been looking like a lost puppy for the last day)…

Crowd factor- is pretty minimal right now, all pretty mellow…

Changes at Joyo’s since last year- a bunch of the rooms have been upgraded, new couches, bunch of new loungers down by the jetty in the entertainment space, and they’re in the middle of constructing a helipad so soon, you’ll be able to rock up in your ‘copter… also good if we need to do helicopter retrievals if anyone gets badly hurt… Food’s better than last year as well…. good work guys…

Injuries so far… we’ve had a bit of reef in foot, the usual reef cuts, a broken toe, raging reef infection, but nothing too hectic so far (touch wood)….

We’re encouraging anyone who has any spare medical kit to leave it with us in the Jungle, or if you’ve got spare stuff and you’re in Kuta at the end of your Indo trip- drop it off at the Camp office at Bensari Lane, Poppies 2- we’d appreciate it…

Anyway, enough from me for now, more soon….

Cheers,

Preeti
