Waves, waves and more waves!

Waves: Well. There were definitely waves yesterday, as predicted it cleaned up, but didn’t drop off. G-land was enormous with some sets that were easily over 10 foot. Burko got loads, about 15 people in the water… great big angry looking barrels. One guy snapped his leash and lost his board, that would have been a hell of a paddle back in…

Paul (Burko’s little bro) spent the morning at 20-20s got about 20 waves, and at most there were 5 people in the water at anyone time, and he also gets the award for breaking a board out there (who gets their board broken at 20-20s?)… He also paddled out at Giant G-land in the afternoon with Burko… Scary but strangely fun was the verdict…

People: I think I have met officially the most happy person in the jungle…Tony is 21, from WA and lives, breathes, eats and talks waves… it’s good to have such stoked folk around… he got barrelled off his face yesterday and I’ve never seen such a big happy grin when he was cracking his first well deserved icy bintang of the day… Go Tony!

Food: Awesome barbecued fish last night- couldn’t get enough… congrats to the new chef for some great meals over the last couple of days…

Other Jungle Happenings: The massage ladies definitely deserve a mention… Maya and Tini have got magic hands… the massage area is upstairs in the main clubhouse, and you can organise one of them to pummel the day’s efforts away…

Injuries: remarkably none for the last day or two… but there was a pretty major seafood allergy… A word to the wise: if you know you have food allergies, don’t eat food you are allergic to!

Tonight- It’s Indonesian Independence Day and it’s one of the guy’s 25th birthday, so I think we might have the makings of a little party… off to bake the cakes now…

More soon,
