With this years annual Surfing Doctors conference just around the corner the froth is at an all time high. Following a number of requests we have turned on an epic swell for this years conference. With moon / tides / wind and swell all aligning setting G land up for some of it’s most perfect conditions.
It kind of feels like the calm before the storm here at the camp today, with a pretty mellow crew last night – very civilised. There have also been a few stories being told of last year’s conference. Expectations are high, from all concerned, that the Surfing Doctors will once again live up to their reputation of having fun both in and out of the water – between educational sessions and workshops of course.
I’m hoping the Kuta vortex doesn’t take too many casualties in the coming days and all the crew makes it on the boat.
In any case, once again this year we have some great talks and workshops lined up for the conference. It will mostly take a scenario with open floor discussion format, often with input from leading experts in the area.
Scenarios will include:
- Evacuation of critically ill patients from remote locations – based around a recent incident in the mentawai Islands.
- Traumatic eye injuries – inspired by a recent G land mishap.
- Water retrieval / spinal trauma and immobilisation – inspired by multiple events at multiple breaks over many years.
- Plus much more – see the 2013 program for full details.
Looking forward to catching you all here at G land for it.
