Surfing Doctors Newsletter
As you all know, the Surfing Doctors Conference in G-Land was cancelled this year due to COVID-19, and the WSL’s Quiksilver Pro G-Land was withdrawn after that.
The staff at Joyos Surf Camp, where we stay during our conference, are having it hard at the moment, and Nick Gibbs has set up a GoFundMe page for the staff and their families, to help them get through this difficult time.
If you have ever enjoyed a stay at Joyos, or even if you just want to donate, it would be most appreciated. Even just a couple of bucks will help.
This is the GoFundMe message
Hi Global G-Land Family,
I hope this finds you all safe and well in troubled times. We wish you the best and are sad we may not be sharing the magic of G-Land together for a while.
The staff are great friends to so many of us over so many years. They are a massive part of what makes the jungle so unique. Many are struggling with the loss of income from the camp closing. This closure is due to the closure of Alas Purwo National Park. Most staff have a family to support and the chance of increased medical bills to come.
It’s time to pay forward their continued wellbeing toward years of good times with our jungle brothers and sisters ahead.
Money raised will be able to guarantee living part wages for the months ahead and manage medical and education expenses for their families.
All contributions over $10 will receive a free tin of limited 2020 edition Surfyogis.
All contributions over $100 will go into the draw for a 6-night Stay at Joyos G-land Camp, open dates.
Any surplus funds raised will be proportionately added to the Bintang accounts of contributors.
