Noordhoek Beach, Cape Town. So fickle. Freezing, h Noordhoek Beach, Cape Town. So fickle. Freezing, hollow and dangerous, difficult to access with a long walk, sharky with several attacks recorded including fatalities, and one of the windiest beaches on the planet. Beach muggings and cars broken in while you surf add to the fun. Also, some of the best barrels on the planet. If the tide is correct, the wind is perfect, the banks are lined up, and you're a lucky kind of person. Always ready to adapt and make changes, the Surfin Always ready to adapt and make changes, the Surfing Doctors opted for a few low-key conferences at Gnaraloo Station when travel wasn't easy. It's always a challenge getting there, and after a few punctures and some trailer and caravan damage on the way in, they scored waves. It was not as big and thick as this, but plenty of adrenalin for all. ©kidnie

Surfing Doctors member @gemstargazer had a busy se Surfing Doctors member @gemstargazer had a busy season at G-land as part of her second stint on duty. She handled everything with ease and went on to visit a few other outer locations in the Mentawais. She reported her findings and thoughts on the future to the Surfing Doctors crew. Surfing Doctors member Simon Nothling had a good y Surfing Doctors member Simon Nothling had a good year in Indo this year. After visiting the @friendsofnias in Lagundri and attending the Surfing Doctors Conference in G-Land, he scored all sorts of waves at Uluwatu and Padang Padang. One of his highlights was losing his board at pretty chunky Ulus and having to do the notorious swim-in with the current sweeping down the point. Simon is an accomplished Open Water swimmer, so it was all part of his training. This photo - Solid Ulus.

While the Surfing Doctors focus is on G-Land and N While the Surfing Doctors focus is on G-Land and Nias, there are plenty of other, more remote waves that have been firing this year during the season as well as off-season. The Surfing Doctors always recommend basic First Aid Knowledge and a solid medical kit when venturing off the beaten track. #surfingdoctorsonduty
Durban surfer @glenncheary visited G-Land at the Durban surfer @glenncheary visited G-Land at the start of a month-long trip to Indo a few months ago while Dr Chapman was on Surfing Doctors duty in the jungle. A miss-timed late take-off at The Ledge resulted in a serious pelvic injury and a helicopter ride out of there, with the help and assistance of Dr Phil Chapman. Then, it was a fairly challenging spell in BIMC before Glenn was safely on his way home. Glenn is an accomplished and competent surfer, but these things can happen quickly. #surfingdoctors
