Nationality

Australian

Current Position

Third-year Chiropractic Science Student

Education And Professional Background

Zac is currently completing a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science at Central Queensland University (CQU) in Brisbane and is due to graduate this year.

Alongside his studies, he has spent the past two years working in massage therapy, an experience that has played an important role in his development. He has also worked alongside a health practitioner in Lennox Head, learning about patient care, clinic management and the importance of identifying the root cause of a problem rather than simply treating symptoms.

Medical Interests

Health and wellbeing have always been areas of strong interest for Zac. He enjoys learning how the body functions and how it can maintain optimal health and performance.

More recently, he has developed a particular interest in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy after reading The Oxygen Revolution, which introduced him to the science and potential benefits of oxygen-based treatments.

Home Break

Cabarita Beach, Northern New South Wales.

Favourite Surf Destination

Yallingup, Western Australia.

Zac travelled there at the end of 2024 to compete in his first WQS event at the age of 18. Although his campaign ended in the Round of 32, he loved every minute of the experience.

“Surfing pumping waves alongside some incredible surfers was something I’ll never forget.”

Surf Travel

Surf trips have been part of Zac’s life since he was nine years old. Over the years, he has travelled extensively up and down the Australian coastline, and he still believes there is nothing better than a surf trip built around camping.

Best Surf Trip

Lakey Peak, Indonesia (2019)

At just 13 years old, Zac scored pumping waves every day of the trip. The surf was consistently overhead and intimidating for a young surfer, making the experience even more memorable.

Watching Shane Dorian make those waves look effortless remains one of his strongest memories from the trip.

Worst Surf Trip

“I don’t think there is such a thing as a bad surf trip.”

For Zac, time spent travelling and surfing with friends is always worthwhile. Even the mishaps eventually become great stories.

What He Loves Most About Surfing

The fact that there is always room for improvement.

“You are never perfect. There is always something to work on. There is no finish line in surfing, and that’s why I paddle out every day.”

Best Advice Received

“Always aim high and never miss a day.”

Consistency, he believes, eventually rises to the top, and it is a philosophy he applies both in and out of the water.

Favourite Surfer

Ethan Ewing.

“Ethan’s technique is absolutely flawless. Hopefully he wins a world title soon.”
