Favourite surfer in the world and why?
My current fav on the CT is Ethan Ewing; he’s powerful, progressive, and fun to watch. I’m also a huge fan of Torren Martyn … he’s just so stylish; everything is effortless, but he’s having a blast at the same time.
Current go-to surfboards?
For longboard days – the McTavish Involvement, which I love in a few different lengths 8’, 9’4 and 9’6. I LOVE this pig shape and have been surfing the same McTavish shape in different dimensions for ten years.
For big days – I really love guns shaped by Pat Rawson. I feel my new go-to is one Pat’s working on for my winter season – shaped by Pat & glassed by Jack Reeves in 9’10 x 21.5 x 3.5.
Pat Rawson has been such a big mentor and inspiration to me in the shaping community, I have and continue to learn so much from Pat, and I can’t thank him enough.
Any other information you would like to add about yourself? – In the last few years, I started shaping my own boards and am always keen to chat about shaping, board design, and surfing. You can find my boards at Mariposa Surfboards – www.mariposasurfboards.com
