Annual Surfing Doctors Conference
It’s time to start planning the annual Surfing Doctors G-land Conference. This year, the conference will take place from July 19th to 26th, a good week for building tides.
Attending the conference will cost you an entrance fee to Surfing Doctors of AU$200, which is well worth the cost for such an engaging week in the jungle. (If you’re a consultant and want to pay a bit more, then get in contact, and it can be arranged.) The entrance fee includes a Surfing Doctors Conference t-shirt.
Last year’s conference was all-time, with a good crew, excellent talks, and the waves pumped throughout. The biggest surf actually arrived the day after the conference (and the morning after the closing party).
The conference is held at the JAWA JIWA CAMP, and it fills up quickly, so if you’re available and want to attend, you should grab a spot early.

The G-LAND ROSTER is up on the website. Have a look if you’re keen on doing a stint in the jungle. If you’re keen and see a gap that fits your timetable, contact Dr Hateley at DAVID.HATELEY@UQCONNECT.EDU.AU to confirm.
Friends Of Nias
The Surfing Doctors are helping out with Friends Of Nias, with Simon Nothling being the Surfing Doctor on point for this. Their website is https://friendsofnias.org/, and they also have a volunteer program. If you are interested in heading out to Nias and surfing some of the famous Lagundri right-handers in between your volunteer work, check out the calendar and get in touch with Dr Nothling or via the FON team here — FON CONTACTS.

Western Australia Margaret River Pro
Get ready for the MARGARET RIVER PRO, a World Surf League Championship Tour event where the Surfing Doctors will provide medical backup. It’s always a fantastic event, and Dr Chapman will lead our crew again this year, including Kyle Kophamel, Scott Stirling and Dom Howell.
The Margaret River Pro is one of the year’s most important events, as it is the final tournament before the mid-year cut. This is the one event where surfers must go large to avoid the cut, so we can expect massive action highlights from this event. Usually, it’s big and exciting, and if we see the top surfers in action at The Box, it’s even better.
