Tell us about your best surf trip ever.

Last winter up to Red Bluff. Solo trip in which I met a load of cool people, got pumping waves and saw a lot of wildlife.

Tell us about your worst surf trip ever.

In March in the UK, we camped out overnight to get a dawnie in before the crowds arrived, as the forecast looked good. Zero degrees overnight – woke up to a frozen water bottle and wetsuits covered in frost, so we just packed up and went home, didn’t even surf!

What is the worst surf injury you have ever had to treat?

Face-plant into the reef at speedies, G-land. A few scalp lacerations which needed closure, but the main problem was that he had neck pain and upper limb altered sensation, so we had to get him a helicopter to Bali (he turned out to be ok – no fracture and was lucky to not become unconscious in the water)

The best thing about surfing?

Time in the ocean/the wild. And the feeling of going fast will never get old.
